London, 18 November:  The 16th annual edition of the British Bangladeshi Who’s Who was unveiled at a distinguished gala ceremony at the Meridian Grand Hall, recognising the outstanding achievements and contributions of British Bangladeshis across the United Kingdom. The publication continues to showcase the community’s remarkable progress and its significant role within multicultural Britain.


Baroness Pola Uddin, Member of the House of Lords and Chief Guest of the evening, praised the publication for highlighting exemplary individuals who have excelled in their respective fields. She noted that this year’s edition honours seven outstanding British Bangladeshis whose accomplishments continue to inspire and influence future generations.The publication was officially launched by Channel S founder Mahee Ferdous Jalil, Who’s Who founder Abdul Karim Goni, Pearl Advertising Director Ahad Ahmed, Executive Editor Suhana Ahmed, Barrister Anawar Miah, Barrister Nadia Ali and Hafsa Noor.


A total of 272 British-Bangladeshi success stories have been featured in this year’s publication, which also highlights the contributions of emerging new talent. The inclusion of the third generation of British Bangladeshis has further enriched and elevated the publication, showcasing the innovation and achievements of the community’s rising stars.


Reflecting on the honour, this year’s award recipients expressed that the Who’s Who recognition is both a privilege and a source of pride, serving as a meaningful acknowledgement of their work. Since its inception, the *British-Bangladeshi Who’s Who* has documented and celebrated the accomplishments of community pioneers ensuring that their contributions are recorded for future generations.


Editor Abdul Karim Gani noted that both senior and younger members of the British Bangladeshi community continue to play a vital and unique role in broader British society. He added that the publication serves as an accessible resource for anyone wishing to learn about the community’s wide-ranging contributions.


Executive Editor Suhana Ahmed emphasised the publication’s growing reputation within the community. She said “The purpose of the publication is two-fold: firstly, to present inspirational role models for our community, especially the younger generation; and secondly, to highlight the extensive and remarkable contributions British Bangladeshis are making at a time when the value of migration is being scrutinised in parts of the media and society.”


She added her hope that readers will enjoy this year’s edition, celebrate the achievements of the award recipients, and continue their support in the years to come.
Organised in collaboration with Meridian Grand, this year’s gala event was hosted by esteemed presenters Barrister Nadia Ali and Barrister Anwar Miah.

The ceremony was attended by a distinguished roster of guests, including Baroness Pola Uddin, Her Honourable Judge Sapnara Khatun, The Lord Mayor of Chester Cllr Sherin Akhtar, Speaker of Tower Hamlets Council Cllr Suluk Ahmed, Mayor of Warrington Cllr Moazzam Hussain, Mayor of Kempston Town Council , Bedford Cllr Ali Akbor, Mayor of Haringey Cllr Ahmed Mahbub, Barrister Anis Rahman OBE, Channel S founder Mahee Ferdhaus Jalil, and other prominent community leaders.

Barrister Mohammed Quamrul Hassan was honoured by Baroness Pola Uddin, Mahee Ferdous Jalil, and Mohammad Ali, Director of Amaze Media.

Shahed Ahmed was presented his award by Cllr Suluk Ahmed, Abdul Haque (Director, Purple-I), and Tareq Mahamud (Director, Apex Accountancy).

Cllr Nadia Shah received her award from Her Honour Judge Sapnara Khatun*, *Shelim Hussain MBE (Founder, Euro Foods Ltd), Jorid Miah (G10 Printers), and Syedur Rahman Ranu.

Md Harun Miah was honoured by Cllr Suluk Ahmed, Cllr Ali Akbor, David Royston & Jan (Square Mile Insurance), Kazi Arif (Director, Prime Estate Agents), and Ahmed Us Samad Chowdhury (Chairman, Channel S TV).
Abdus Samad received his award from Cllr Ahmed Mahbub, Cllr Moazzam Hussain, Cllr Sherin Akhtar, Mohammed Kuduse (Director, Dream Spas), and Prabu Serumadar (Director, Kitchens & Bathrooms Ltd).
Afruz Miah was presented his award by Baroness Pola Uddin, Jan Chowdhury (Trustee, Zaimah Pounding Poverty), M. Sayad Altab,and Mohammed Faruk Rashid.


The ceremony featured an engaging presentation segment that captivated the audience with personal stories and reflections. Guests were further entertained by musical performances from renowned British Bangladeshi artists, including internationally acclaimed, award-winning singer Alaur Rahman and celebrated vocalist Bithy Chowdhury.
The 2025 edition of the British Bangladeshi Who’s Who and the accompanying gala dinner are supported by a wide network of sponsors and partners, in association with Meridian Grand. The event was professionally managed by Pearl Advertising UK Ltd.
